Need More Ides For 80`s Themed Reception
Hi!! My fiancee` and I are having a 1980`s themed wedding reception and I would like to hear some outside the "family and friends" ideas. We are dressing up 80`s style and so are most of the guests. We have ordered mini Rubik`s cubes, neon sunglasses, and neon hats that we will be filling w/candy such ar SourPatch Kids, Poprocks, Nerds, for our table favors, and the obvious stuff like the 80`s music, movie posters, Mr.&Mrs.Pacman invites.
Any suggestions to make it more memorable will be welcomed!!
PS-----------we`re on a VERY tight budget, but I am very good at bargin shopping!!

You may know this already, but VH1 ran a series called " I love the 80s" which would be a treasure trove of ideas if you taped it or got someone to tape it for you -- it runs fairly often on VH1.
For me, "Barbie" pink has always been the symbolic color of the 80s. Maybe a frosted pink cake (I don`t mean just that it has frosting, I mean that frosted, gradual fade look.)

Thanks for the "Barbie" idea!! I "totally" forgot about Barbie!!! And, I love the VH-1 series!! I have been taping them. Not only for ideas, but for some great laughs!!!

Roller skates
Black trans-ams
Parachute pants
Leg warmers
Panama jack t-shirts
Headbands
Tight jeans
Members only jackets with pins with sayings on them
ALF
Feathered hair
Big hair
The Miami Vice inspired jackets

A cheap favor idea..................friendship pins!!!(the safety pins with the beads on them) that might be a regional thing but definately 80`s. Also, banana clips or the ribbon barretts for your hair.

More great ideas!!! Keep`em coming!!! I found in the Oriental Trading Co. Catalog the "jelly bracelets", in neon or neon with glitter, for only $3.95 for 144 of them!!! The banana clip!!! I seriously think I still have some!!!!

Wow what a great theme for a wedding.....everyone will enjoy that..young and old....The 80s are the best...especially the music......i remember the neon pink and yellowy green....legwarmers, suspenders....hats on girls, collars up, one long earing, one short....funky layered, big hair, blue eyeshadow, thick eyelashes, and pastel lips. Oh the possibilities.....have fun with that.....
