Wedding Question

I`m having a wedding in April, using Periwinkle and Silver, and I`m having trouble finding reception table toppers in a floral arrangement that is affordable yet beautiful. I`m having 22 tables, and I already have 11 centerpieces for 11 tables and need an idea for the other 11. Please can you help me?!! I`M STRESSED!

I`m using royal blue and silver. My wedding is in about two months, and I really don`t have decorations completely figured out yet. I`m not stressed yet (I have that scheduled for August), but I need ideas too. Inexpensive ideas! I`m thinking of the floating candles on mirrors idea, although everyone does that...

Our venue is not really gorgeous looking, needs a lot of work to make it so. We`re paying for this largely on our own, so the Legion charging $13 a person is what we went for.

Any suggestions on how to dress up rectangular tables? They`re going to be covered with white table covers (not linen, sort of plastic stuff I suppose), and I`m planning to put a square of royal blue felt in the centre of each, perhaps two. Candles on top of the square of felt, but otherwise, I`m nearly tapped out of ideas - Martha I ain`t! Please help!

I am not sure if you are doing this yourself however I have used branches without leaves from the trees, spraypaint them white and have little periwinkle bows hanging from them with words like, Love, Faith, Patience etc.... You can place them in a pewter vase with sand to hold them up or any container... It is a bit different but will get your guest excited. People like to see that kind of stuff.... If you don`t like that idea then try to use clear round vases with periwinkle tulips, they should be in season and it is simple but elegant.

If you are using rectangular tables, here is a possible idea to cut down on flower arrangements for large stretches of table area:

Use your main color (periwinkle or royal blue) in WIRED very wide (3") ribbon to create streams of lightly curled ribbon the length of the tables. Perhaps two lengths. Intertwine silver thinner ribbon similarly. (Don`t forget to cut the ends with a V-cut.) You could purchase silver plastic bells or hearts at a party store and glue them strategically along the darker ribbons only. Make large full rounded bows from the wide ribbons and place evenly along the table. (One for a table of six or two for eight to twelve seatings). Place a decoration of your choosing on top of or close to the bows without conpletely covering it. This could be a shallow bowl (glass spray painted in silver?)w/ three flowers such as carnations floated, or a cupid statue (fairly poplular and easy to find spray painted silver, or even short glass orsilver candle holders with tall tapers. Another added decoration to give your tables sparkle and added adornment would be to sparingly sprinkle some of that tiny confetti (often put in cards) that you can find in party stores. I have seen them in all kinds of theme cuts, like hearts or numbers and they most likely have bell shapes, too!

Best wishes and use your imagination...I know you have one!

But the point is, the ribbon will `fill up` the table and allow for a slightly less expensive or large centerpiece.

I am also using Periwinkle and silver.

I used a few different colors of purple silk and silver silk flowers (very cheap about $30), wrapped them around a flat glass bowl and filled it with crackled ice. Put about 3 floating candles in them and used a ribbon draped along the entire length of the table with little bouquets that match what I am carrying.

It really looks nice and the mix of purples and silver bring out the periwinkle color.

Good Luck!

Thank You all for your wonderful ideas! This is really helping me out a lot. I`m the one with the periwinkle/silver decoration dilemma. I`m trying to plan this wedding by myself along side my fiance and that`s why I`m stressing, not because of the wedding plans itself, just because I have no help. We`re on a low budget and I need as many suggestions available. I forgot to mention the wedding is "park themed" off our first date in the park at night time, and the wedding will be in the evening time. Were also using mostly round tables with a plastic periwinkle table cloths. I`d like to create a mystical april night outside affect yet it`s indoors. We`re using many christmas decor white lights and whimsicle trees, candles, etc. Any other ideas on how to make this effect without breaking us on our way to the big day would be very helpful, as your suggestions already have been. Thank you!
