Brides Maids Dresses

The bride took it upon herself to purchase her brides maid dress and her maid of honor dress and only consulted with her brides maid at the time of purchase.

We are wearing black no sleeve turtle neck glittered blouses with panel skirt. Is this appropriate for a garden wedding?

The bride should have had the maids with her at the time of purchase, but usually, the maids wear what the bride chooses. A thoughtful bride will take the maids opinions into consideration and also the people she has for maids. That is, if a style is not becoming on all of them.

Also, black dress should be reserved for evening weddings only. Garden weddings seem to call for light colors suitable to the setting...a garden or outdoor area. And, dresses should not have sequins or sparkle for a maid`s dress. The elegance should be only in the style, fabric and length of the dresses. Sparkle should be reserved for the bride if she so chooses.
