Toasts
My brother is having his wedding this summer and I am one of the bridesmaids. I am very excited about this opportunity but it is my first time in a wedding. I have been asked to prepare a toast to our parents and I am deathly afraid of public speaking. I was wondering if anyone knows of any good sites that give tips of preparing speeches and ones that provide examples of good speeches. I am totally at a loss and could use some help. Thanks so much!

There is a group called "Toastmasters" with chapters all over the country who meet to help with public speeking. Also, there are lots of books with sample toasts in the wedding section of your local book store. Good Luck!!

Make it funny and sweet and something they`ll remember...
Like the time they went skinny dipping late last September...
If you want it to read like a song from your heart...
Love will be their`s til death do they part...
I find it easier to come up with rhymes...
Especially when speaking of these happy times...
Write it down and practice it time and again...
Everyone will cry, even the men...
Good luck with it and just have fun. Public speaking isn`t such a big deal. You`re in a room with those who love you the most. Read it if you have too, what`s most important on this day are the words you speak.
