Not A Cookie-Cutter Wedding, PLEA

I`m in central NJ and I need help! I can`t stand the thought of paying tons of $ for the typical fancy-schmancy flowers/bridesmaids/sit-down dinner/reception hall wedding. I want something unique, not what everyone else does! Thought about small ceremony ( w/ parents & other immediate family members) and having a big PARTY after the honeymoon but I`m STRESSED and totally lost for ideas. I`d even go for a ceremony/reception combo location but I`d REALLY prefer something interesting! Please offer ANY cool, unusual wedding suggestions!

The coolest unusual wedding suggestion is going to come from you. Stop logging onto this site. Just make it up as you go along, skip the flowers and cake and buffet. Is there a place in town you love? An activity that you are fanatic about? A destination you`ve always wanted to go to? Start in your own head and let it evolve from there.

If you can`t come up with anything at all, just throw that huge party first and have a surprise wedding while all your guests are there. They`ll be talking forever. And you can have somefun.

Hi Lisa,

Not sure when you are looking to get married but, I live in South Jersey and decided AGAINST the big wedding and WE are so thrilled! My wedding was three weeks ago, in Key West, Florida, private island on the beach at sunset. As a matter of fact, tomorrow is our "at home" celebration with 85 yes 85 people coming to our house. We are grilling sausage and hamburgers I`ve ordered a keg of beer, I have a special display setup for my dress and I have my wedding pictures back and a favor for everyone. I bought pretty paper (program size that folds) and inside are our vows and everyone gets a wedding picture. That`s my story and I am so glad we decided to go small. We love Key West and if you would like any e-mail, please feel free to e-mail me. Jessica

One other thing, we got married on Sunset Key which has two and three bedroom BEAUTIFUL cottages - a bit of money but very well worth it worth it and we paid for our families to stay there (his had one and mine had another) and then of course we had our own with the wedding right on the beach outside of the cottage.
