David`s Bridal
I`m 21 years old and gettign married in April 2004. I am very excited and have already started planning for my wedding. When I found out there was a David`d Bridal in Macon, GA I was very excited. I had seen the commercials on television for the famous $99 dresses and since I was on a tight budget I thought I`ll try it out. As soon as I came in the store I thought I would be getting my dress from there because the people were so nice but boy was I in for a big surprise. After filling out the registration sheet, they assigned me a so called wedding consultant. She asked me which dress I wanted to try on and I told her. She got out the dress, bra, and slip and place it in the dressing room for me. That was the last I saw of her till I got ready to leave. I`ve never been married or dress shopping and at this point my mom is not really invovled so I had no idea what I was doing and they didnt help. The whole time I was there the employees were putting up signs in the store. I didnt let that bad experiece stop me though, so I went back again and was in for another let down. I changed wedding consultants and although this one paid a lot more attention to me, she didnt really look at the sheet I had filled out the first time I came in. I wasnt planning on spending more than $399 for the dress itself but every dress she thought I should try on was like $599-799. Then she kept trying to get me to go ahead and get the dress before Saturday because their sale of 30-70% off all the dresses in the store would go off then. Also they told me that it would take up to 6 months to get the dress in so I need to order as soon as possible to avoid any troubles. Well thanks to the internet and the comments of some very outspoken unhappy brides and the advice of my cousin who works at their counterpart store AfterHours I didnt get my dress from their. I went to another place called House of Hines in Macon. I went there and told the lady exactly what I wanted my dress to look like, my size and price range. We found the perfect dress. It was a Mon Cheri discountiued dress and I almost cried when I put it on because it was so beautiful, more beautiful then any of the dresses I had seen at David`s and it only costed me $369 with tax and the only addition I had to have was a tiara and a veil. I am much happier with my dress now than I would have been if I had went to David`s. By the way I went to David`s during the middle of June and the so-called sale they said would end on that Saturday is still going on almost 3weeks later.
