The Merion In Cinnaminson, Nj

Has anyone had a wedding there? How was the food and the service? I am thinking of booking it for my daughter`s wedding in 11/2009. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sylvia,

Have you already been to see the facility in person and meet with one of their sales reps? I was planning to book The Merion for my wedding (which will be next July) because they looked absolutely gorgeous online, and when I emailed them my budget ($100 per person) they strongly advised me to make an appointment to see the venue. My fiance and I drove all the way to NJ from Baltimore to find out that their package (although it includes a decent amount) was 1.5 x our budget, and they absolutely refused to negotiate any of the items in the package. They wouldn`t even let us take out the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that are included in the dessert presentation. The place was, I`ll admit, rather breath taking on the inside, but the outside was severely lacking in appeal.

I hope this was in some way helpful to you. Like I said, if you`ve already met with them, saw the venue in person, and knew what the cost per person was, and you`re ok with that, I would say book it because I could only imagine their food would be delicious!

Sylvia,
My daughter had her reception at the Merion in May 2007. People are still talking about it. They have never seen anything like it. To say it was the most fabulous wedding I have ever witnesses would be an understatement. They will bend over backwards to do everything that you want. When you see the food that they offer you won`t believe it. My sister in law works at the Mansion in Voorhees and she doesn`t know how they do it. You will pick all of your food for the cocktail hour but when you get there, not only is the food that you picked there but so much more. They throw in a lot of surprises. I was actually moved to tears. I told them that we didn`t order the mashed potato bar and the chocolate fountain and many other things and they told us that it was their treat. I don`t want to give anything away in case you book, but they do something for the bride at the reception that is amazing. I still have people telling me they never saw a wedding like it. We had such a good time that we are having our other daughter`s wedding there this Saturday. It is expensive, no doubt about it. But you are getting a lot for your money and you will never forget it. Once you`ve been to The Merion you don`t want to go to other weddings. Nothing can compare. Good LucK!

AMAZING! I had my wedding ceremony there and reception (Amazing skylight room) there in July 2008. When I say people are still talking about it, they really are still talking about it. Older guests who said they have been to many weddings said they all could not compare to what the Merion pulled off.

I bought in while construction was going on so it was a bit cheaper (about 115pp including tax). I know now it is more but it is SO worth it if you can swing it. They include SO much on the basic menu that there is really no need to add anything to the menu, I mean you do pay a lot but they REALLY do work for every penny they get.

Not in the best location, however it is close to Philadelphia and once you are inside the Merion you could care less what the outside surroundings look like.

I searched about 15 different locations in the Bucks County and areas around Bucks County and this is by far the most amazing of them all. I was going to go with Pen Ryn, which has a nicer location however it does have a cookie cutter room and they do charge you extra for every little thing which is included on the Merion`s basic menu. The Merion has rooms that literally make you say "WOW" when you walk in. Not too many places can pull off the WOW factor.

The staff was amazing, food was amazing, EVERYTHING was amazing. Ceremony room is a bit small and the lighting at the alter makes the speakers buzz, but maybe that has been fixed. They should have a built in speaker system for the $ you pay.

Ohh and a good local hotel with a bar in it open late (which I found hard to find around that area) was the Wyndham Mount Laurel.. They were re-doing the rooms at the time but I’m sure they are amazing looking now.

I hope this helps! You just can’t go wrong by picking the Merion.

My fiance and I just went to look at the Merion last month (8/9/09) and we met with Adrienne, who is very nice she did my friend`s wedding there last year. She quoted me at $144 pp for the empire room and $160pp for the skylight room for our wedding date 10/30/10, which was WELL over our budget that we were willing to spend. This is probably because October is peak wedding season for alot of places. They do offer an amazing package you can`t deny that but it does stink that you can`t remove any of the items on the package to decrease the amount you`re paying per head. The venue is beautiful to say the least. Definitely worth seeing and they also offered a complimentary tasting before putting down the deposit money for 8 people. If i could pick anywhere to get married and I did not have a budget it would most certainly be there!!

I am having my wedding there on October 18, 2009. Adrianne is my coordinator. The people there are amazing. Their approach to the customers is wonderful. Owners, management, and coordinators are very accomodating and pleasant. They have catered to every request that we have made. We have completely revamped the menu, and they worked with us to give us the exact menu that we wanted. This is probably the one part in all of the wedding preparation that I am the least concerned about because I know they will do a wonderful job.

Dana,
The price that they quote you typically includes the tax and gratuity. We just had our wedding there on October 18th, and it was amazing. The staff and owners are wonderful and made sure that all our desires were met. Our guests are still talking about our wedding. Good luck!!!

We had the Palace Room for the ceremony, and Palazzio for reception. They are both on the main floor of the building. I am sorry to hear about your other place, the Merion is definitely reputable, and I am sure that if you tell the owners what has happened to you, they might give you something extra. (it`s all about negotiations) Have you looked into filing a case to get your money back from the other place?

The Merion is great and wonderful, but there is a new venue that I coordinated a wedding at on October 24th of this year called The Hamilton Manor located in Hamilton NJ. The place is beautiful and the prices are great!. Prices range from $47.00 to $98.00 per person depending on the time of your reception. Check out there web site and I know you will like what you see. Good Luck!

I actually looked at the Hamilton Manor when we were booking, and to be honest and also not to offend anyone, but it does not compare to the Merion. I would still choose the Merion any day.

Dana,

The food was amazing. We still have people who are talking about how great the food was. The chef at the Merion will make sure that you are pleased. We had a personilized menu that we created, but everything was perfect. Even the cocktail hour was great and filled with tons of food. Obviously, I am telling you from what I heard from others, since we had the cocktail hour prior to the ceremony, and I was hidden away in the bridal suite :) (and also my nerves were definitely working overtime, so I could not get a single piece of food in me), but even my husband, who is very picky with his food loved everything.
