Short On Funds:(
I need help. My boyfriend and I have been talking about getting engaged and what we had in mind for the wedding. I have this fantasy about the "perfect wedding" and my parents told me that they can`t help out at all. His parents are broke right now too, but I need to know if there is any and all tips I could get on how to have a Cinderella wedding on a small, college budjet! Thanks!

You should definately contact Discount Bridal. They are a service that will order almost everything for your wedding, at a fraction of the cost. I found the Demetrios gown of my dreams 3 years ago for my wedding, and the price tag was $2100. I called Discount Bridal and received it in 10 weeks for $600.00. They do not have a store to maintain, so the prices are great. And, the items are directly ordered from the designer as a special order. There is no middleman. I know that they carry almost everything else you need, but you have to decide on the exact items before you call them. They can even order a dress for you if you call and tell them "Page 321 in Modern Bride Magazine, June 2003 issue is the one".
Good Luck and Congratulations!!

Heather,
How do I get in touch with Discount Bridal? Do they have a web site?
Thanks!

I know I am going to start a firestorm by saying this, but you could try to get your wedding sponsored. I know it is not for everyone. Most people that communicate on wedding sites generally seem to be traditionalists. My fiance and I are actually trying this idea out. Our website (http://ardmore.cambria.com/weiss/) has some articles from the media, about other couples who have done it successfully.

Getting married and the ceremony will be perfect, or as close as can be. You``re marrying the man you love!
:-) Right now, funds might be tight, when they aren;t, how about throwing a huge party ? Maybe on your first anniversary!
As for a dress, try a second hand store, in a "rich" area! I`ve known people to wear a dress ONCE and take it to a place like that!
Have fun!
