Poem From Deceased Father To Bride
I am looking for a poem to give to a close friend that would be from her deceased father to her on her wedding day. Please help.

The idea of giving a poem to your friend on her wedding day from her father is a thoughtful idea. However, my father has also passed away and I know that I don`t want anything "from him" on my wedding day.
This might sound a little harsh but I will remember that he`s not there and I will also remember the reason why he`s not there. This is susposed to be a happy day for the bride but if people keep bringing up the fact that the bride`s father is not there that`s going to be weighing on her mind all day.
Her father will already be in her mind, as he will not be there to walk her down the aisle, or give her away, or to dance with, or to do all the other things that a bride does with her father on her weding day.
If you still really want to give your friend something "from her father". Perhaps think about giving it to her after the wedding in a low key way.
Remember that this is her day to be happy, and you should not do anything to bring her down on her wonderful day.

Meg,
Thank you for your reply. We are not giving this to her on her wedding day, but about a month before. We are giving it to her along with a locket with a picture of her father in it. Another friend had seen this done for another wedding and the bride was very grateful.

Hi, I don`t know if this is too late but there is a poem that the father of the bride read at one of the weddings I organised, I thought it was lovely. It is an anonymous poem taken from traditional American Indian Ceremony.
Here it is:
May the sun bring you new strength by day;
May the moon softly restore you by night.
May the rain wash away your fears
And the breeze invigorate your being.
May you, all the days of your life,
Walk gently throught the world
And know its beauty.
Now you will feel no rain, for each will shelter the other
Now you will feel no cold, for each will warm the other.
Now you will feel no solitude, for each will company the other.
Now you are two persons, but will lead one life.
Go now to your dwelling to begin the days of your life together,
And may your days be good and long upon the earth.
I don`t know what you think of this but hope it helps.

I am actually giving my friend a locket with a picture of her deceased father for her flower bouquet but can`t find a poem to go with it. Did you have any luck finding something? Thanks
