If you are trying to avoid him face to face, them I would send a letter. Most people require a cancellation request in writing anyway. You probably won`t get your deposit back, but you probably shouldn`t have booked him in the first if you didn`t like. The most important thing I have learned while shopping for a DJ is don`t shop on price alone. The DJ is something that makes or breaks the reception. You don`t want a DJ that your guests hate so much they leave early. It might be hard to tell him that you found someone better, so in a case like this I think that I would just lie and say the wedding was cancelled or date was changed. Probably not the best way to get out of the situation but it seems like the easist unless you know this person of course.

Check your contract and see what it says. You didn`t say when your wedding is, is it soon? If not it probably will not be a big deal for him either as he will be able to book another wedding. I would do it as soon as possible though, I am sure people cancel for alot of
Reasons all the time. I wouldn`t lie just tell him
You need to cancel. I hope you didn`t give him a large deposit as most certainly you will lose it. Though if you truly were not happy with him,I`m sure whatever it is it will be worth losing it.

The wedding is in october so I figure he will easily get another wedding for that. Only paid 50 for deposit I know I will lose it though and that is okay.

Well, just cancel it then who cares it is your wedding and you should be happy. Make sure though the one you found and like has your date open before you cancel!
Good Luck!
