David`s Bridal B**tches
I had a terrible experiance in the Manchester,CT store today, I was "just looking" when the rude girl at the front desk said "do you have an appt" I had just stopped to look actually. I picked up a dress I liked and she barked at me " your`e not allowed to touch the dresses!" -well SORRY! there was no sign. She then said "were very busy today, you should come back some other time!" omigod! she actually told me to leave, so I went up to her and told her I drove 45min to get here and that I never should have come in the first place. All my friends had told me how rude and snotty they were, I should have listened!

Have you read the previous posts? I wouldn`t even shop at the store next door to David`s Bridal.

I bought my wedding gown from David`s. They were wonderful when I purchased the gown, after that, they were horrible. Once they receive your money, they don`t care how you get your dress altered, or if it is an inconvenience to you. I don`t know how they stay in business, every david`s has horror stories.

I completly agree with you...I worked for Davids Bridal in Warwick, Ri for about 2 weeks....When i saw how they treated the girls that came in and how rude they were to them...I couldn`t believe it...Not to mention I am getting married Sept 03 and the royally screwed me on my alterations...I went for my final fitting only to find they hadn`t done any of them at all...here is is a week beofre my wedding and i wont know if the dress fits me right until 3 days before....BEWARE OF DAVIDS

What every future bride should know regarding David’s
Bridal stores, if you what to be treated like crap and your dress treated like a cleaning rag, then this store
Is for you. I just picked up my dress from DB on 12/5/03
In San Diego, on Grossmont center Dr. In La Mesa. After ordering it in October, after being engaged
For 2 years I had been going to this DB for most of the year in search of the perfect dress needless to say every time I was in the store the sales robots, I mean "Bridal Consultants"(that’s an over statement)
Are asking every 5 minutes or so (no kidding!) are you buying a dress today? Never mind that at the time I started looking, my wedding date was almost 2 years away! well after looking for my dress for 1 year I found a style that was perfect for me and the day I went to buy my dress, until they realized I was buying not just looking I was treated like something the dog dragged in
Well fast forward to 12/5 I go to pick up my dress first we, that is one of my brides maids and I are completely ignored until we finally just grab a sales girl and ask for help, well she went to get my dress from the back of the store and I am horrified to see that the dress is not even in so much as a dry cleaning bag but completely uncovered and when I ask why the dress is not covered I am given the lamest excuse of " well we don`t cover them they are just left hanging in the back".
After that she quickly asked me to sign for the dress I said "not until I look at the dress first"! Imagine my surprise when I found a large dirt stain in the shape of a hand on the front of my Ivory wedding dress.
Now call me crazy but this company is selling white or almost white wedding dresses for hundreds and in some cases a thousand dollars or more not including accessories and alterations and they can`t even cover the dam thing to protect it while it is in their possession?
What was supposed to be a happy and joy filled experience was anything but, the only reason I bought the dress in spite of the treatment in this store is because I loved my dress and I was not going to let a handful of rude, unfriendly, unprofessional, commission hungry dress pushers keep me from my dream dress.
But just to avoid anymore nightmares I am taking my dress elsewhere to have my alterations done, because
At this point I would not be surprised if they took the dress and resold it! So if you are looking for a positive experience stay clear of David’s Bridal!

I live in Las Vegas and had a pretty good experience. I went in without an appointment and they greeted me right away! They also took me and should me where my size was and let me go, they came back several times to check on me. I think it all depends when and where you go!

To the posting from Las Vegas 12/08, I am glad to hear
That you had a good experience, but I don`t think it should matter what DB you patronize the experience should be a positive one at all of their locations. We and when I say we I don`t just mean future brides I mean THE CUSTOMER should come first and foremost, because if not for the customer they would be out business, with that said has anyone noticed that no matter where you go, resturants, department stores(from Wal-Mart to Macys) that customer service is so bad shopping online is fast becoming the primary way consumers are purchasing products and services, but of course I would not buy my wedding dress on line for obvious reasons but I still think that DB should train their "consultants" more extensively and reconsider how they care for the dress while they have it, its almost like after you pay for the dress they could care less if something happens to it which would explain in my case why they were in such a hurry to get me to sign for the dress before I could look at it closely. Also when I went online to find a number or email address to express my concerns to you have to contact the store and speak with the store manager at that location, well I did speak with the manager throughout the whole ordeal and she was just as unconcerned as the “bridal consultants”.
I know some people would say “well why shop there?” well there just are not a lot of bridal salons that offer the large selection that DB has which is a plus for them, but the care and commitment to the client is just not there, it may have been fifty years ago when they first started out, but like a lot of companies they have lost the connection with consumer once they became a multi million dollar company. But I do hope if other future brides that choose to shop at DB they can have the same experience that you had and not the one that I and other brides have had with them.

Ladies,
I too feel your pain because I had a bad experience there as well. I called and made an appointment in advance. I provided them with several items numbers of dresses that I had seen online and wanted to try on. Ask me if when I got there for my pre-scheduled appointment if the dresses were set aside? The answer would be no. The attendant that I was assigned to was of no help. I located a couple of the dresses myself and luckily my mom and aunt were there because they had to help me get these big poofy dresses on. No matter how hard you try you just can`t put on some of these dresses alone. She never offered me shoes, veils, accessories etc to go with any of the dresses. I was very disappointed and will not be purchasing anything from them. Thanks for listening to my rantings and ravings. :)

Cindy,
I am so sorry that you had the same unfortunate experience that I and a lot of other brides have had at DB
But please don’t be discouraged,
For help finding a bridal vendor in your area and if you know of any recent brides ask them where they shopped for their bridal gown and accessories. I have had the luxury of having a long engagement (2yrs) so I have learned so much about wedding planning,if I can be of any help please email me I would be more than happy to give you any information I have. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATZ!!!!

Sibbonribbon,
I only wish I knew about this web site before I bought my dress at DB I just hope the word gets out and DB might just take stock of what kind of experiences are being had in their stores and fix the problem. I know that my past posting have been a bit long and a little bitter, but I feel justified after reading all of the other postings that have come before and have since followed mine. Another thing I noticed is that DB has mostly single very young females working in their stores, I don`t know call me crazy but who better to help a future bride than former bride with a little life experience under their belt?

First, I would like to say that it is really a crappy thing that has happend to some of you at DB.However I dont think you can genralize and say that all of them are B**tches.I made an appointment and went to the one in Camarillo California.I was greeted very nicely, and I was given a catalog and told to fold the pages of every dress that I thought that I might like. She told me to fold as many pages as I wanted and not to worry about it being to many. After that she walked around with me and showed me all of the dresses that were not in the book. She then took me to the dressing room and got me set up with a bra and a slip. While I was changeing she went and retrieved every dress I had picked. She helped me get in and out of them ,picked out veils and other stuff and even acted as if she was a freind and gave me her true oppinion when I ask.It was a truly plaesant experience. The consultant has even called me at home to see how I was and If I wanted to bring my mom and friends in to try on more.I am not going to get my dress there only because I found the dress of my dreams somewhere else. But I did want to let you know that I had a really good experience there and was never treated rudely.I was actually treated very nicely.Davids Bridal kindly ask you to make an appointment. If you want to be treated like a princess and have someone focus on you it is just like anything else you need to make an appointment.I am truly sorry for all of your horrible experiences.Nobody should be treated badly.I just dont think it is nice and it is truly unfortunate that some really nice and helpfull people get put into a this B**tches catagorie.Make an appointment set some time for yourself. If you want to be treated like a princess. You must first treat yourself like a princess! It is like the old saying goes."If you ask you shall recieve".Good luck !

Hello, Marsha
I think it is a little unfair of you to tell the ladies who have had the unfortunate experience of choosing DB for their bridal gowns that; they somehow share some of the blame,
What women getting married shouldn’t be treated like a princess? I mean after all you are about to drop a pretty sizable amount on your entire outfit for one day, I’d say that is deserving of special treatment alone.
I would encourage you to read some of these posting and you would know
That a lot of these women had appointments and still where not given even basic customer service, as far as my own bad experience I did make an appointment each and
Every time
Just to ensure I would get personalized service, I never expected to be treated like
Royalty, but once I made it clear what kind of dress I was looking for
And what size I needed as well the silhouette of the dress these girls still made it a living
Nightmare! As for the labeling of all the employees at DB I did not make up the title
David’s Bridal B***TCHES and I don’t particularly care for it
But as the saying
Goes a company is only as good as their weakest employee so a few bad eggs at DB make it bad for everyone, associates as well s customers. With that said I am glad you where able to find the perfect dress for your special day! CONGRATZ!!!!!
