David`s Bridal Truly Is Bad

I am not a happy bride when it came to visiting the Costa Mesa, CA and the Santa Ana, CA store and was VERY upset to find that after making an appt to view dresses and expect customer service when I arrived at the store, no one greeted me at all. As well, I waited well over an hour after my appt was made and other brides shopping in the store said Good Luck getting someone to even ask if you need help. Needless to say, I am passing the word in a wide network of what would have been potential customers to say that David`s Bridal does NOT employ corteous and attentive employees. NEVER would I want to shop there and a bride should feel like a PRINCESS, let alone at least a normal customer.

David`s Bridal is one of the WORST places I have ever had the misfortune of shopping at.

DO NO SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE.

THEY HAVE A NO RETURN - NO REFUND POLICY!!!

NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS - YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN ANY MERCHANDISE OR GET YOUR MONEY BAC K UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!

ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!! ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR CASH - YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN - NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION IS!!!!

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO SHOP AT A STORE THAT WILL NOT TAKE BACK IT`S MERCHANDISE OR REFUND THE CUSTOMER`S MONEY????

Unfortunatley for your two- I understood when they said that there is no return policy-- even before you paid for dress- I am sorry they didnt pont that out to you on your receipt- whihc it is clearly stated. I didnt like the service that i too- received- but i took it with a grain of salt- if you received bad service and you werent happy with they treated you- perhaps you should have looked else where. I work as an Customer service area supervior so i know what it is like to work in retail- but if you cant read what you are signing- i dont think you should point your finger at the poor customer service provider- ithink rather at ourself. I myself bought a dress there, even if i didnt get the happiest rep there, i found a dress and fell in love but not with the disclaimer on the receipt.

I feel you! DB clearly has customer service issues. I would rather pay more at some other establishment than go there ever again!

I`m sorry y`all had such bad service. I want to point out that not all DBs are like that. I found the perfect dress online. Of course it was discontinued. I bought a used one, but it was too big. I called DB here in Rocklin, CA and the nice man who helped me not only told me the measurements of all the sizes I asked about, he told me which DB stores still had them in stock (on sale!), and gave me information on which stores had the accessories still as well. Eventhough he knew I would not buy from his store (since they didn`t have what I wanted), he took the time to find what I wanted, where it was at, made sure I had all the contact info, and told me to call him if I didn`t get what I wanted. I actually would recommend DB (or at least all of the service reps I spoke to on the phone all over the country gathering my goodies one per store.)

Well I agree with the first two messages. I have been to 2 davids bridals and in 2 different states... And they both were not helpful at all. I walked in and was ignored. When someone finally talked to me and my mother, they assigned us a girl to help us.... But she wasn`t even clocked in yet. So while we were waiting on her, I saw a dress on the display in front of me that I loved. I asked the girl working next to me if I could try it on.... She looked around and told me that my "assistant" would help me with that and she will be back in a minute. Well my mom and I waited 10 minutes (too long to wait) and then told the girl that we were not waiting for her anymore. We left disappointed and I vowed to never go into that store again. That was not the first time I was treated like that and it was a mistake to go in both stores. I tell all the "bride-to-be`s" I know about my experience the hope they don`t make the mistake I made by walking in that store.

I was at David`s Bridal in Waco, TX. I had great service from the lady who helped me and I didnt even have an appointment .She gave me honest opinions, she was helping me and another bride who i didnt know at the same time and neither of us felt like she wasnt dedicated to helping us find exactly what we wanted. I dont know how she multitasked, but shes a pro. I cannot say enough good things about her. Her name is Jody and I suggest requesting her. On the other hand, 2 of the so-called managers in that store are worthless. And saying that they were rude is an understatement. Two of them told me the dress Jody sold me was not available in the color i picked. I changed the color of the dresses that i had already bought ALL of the wedding decorations to match. I was upset, but eventually got over it. Then my bridesmaid went in this weekend to order her dress. They brought her the dress to try on in the color i originally wanted!!!! i found out a few hours ago, and on Monday corporate will be hearing about this. Obviously the "managers" do not know whats going on in their store.

Now Layla, put your big girl panties on and SHUT UP! nobody wants to read your pointless comments defending Davids Bridal as if someone talked about "yo mama". This is brides helping other brides. And if you havnt noticed, we`re making fun of you. The only reason i`m on here is because i do not want other people to have to go through what i did. I have nothing to gain by sharing this story.

Btw, you know how i found this site? I googled "david`s bridal sucks".

If I found this website before, I would definitely have avoided David`s Bridal. I want in Natick, MA with a friend and the intention to get out with a dress, just because i do not have the time to go in numerous places. So i checked on numerous websites to pick David`s Bridal because they supposedly have a large choice and most prices are quite reasonable. I went there without appointment, introduced myself to the girl that says "Hello" at the door desk (because she doesn`t seem to have or to do any other job than that). A girl seemed to acknowledge my presence after a while, when my friend and I were selecting dresses to try on. She took care of us by coming by the fitting room once in a while to see what we were doing but remained perfectly unhelpful. I was fine with being totally ignored since I am ok to help myself, but I understand that many people commenting on this website found that unprofessional. It is. When your job is to help brides to find a gown, you do it or you look for another job!
I picked a dress that day, paid it and then found out it was discontinued (as numerous people apparently) but somehow got it anyway. So far, no one from this store have been helpful, polite or even there.

Then came the time of the alterations and my almost first contact with identifiable people at David`s. When you talk about the changes you want to have made to the dress before buying it, they assure you that everything you want to be done will be done. Of course, they do not tell you when you buy a dress that the copyright on the dresses designs don`t allow them to do much. Regarding the alterations, I was surprised to be stuck between a lady that says "no" to almost every questions and another one that despite being very nice, supposed that her taste were universal and highlighted how unreasonable I was to ask to take a few sequences off the dress (which was the easiest thing ever, i ended up doing it myself) since every normal bride have to be in love with sequences, arguing that she "want the bride to be happy, but also to be pretty", which apparently cannot happen if you ask the dress to be tailored the way you want. Nice and encouraging. I adapted my own expectations to their abilities and we came to an agreement on a set of alterations so everyone could be happy. I remained very cool when they postponed my fitting to three weeks before the wedding because x and y things happening among the alterations team. I remained calm when the second and last fitting finally happened and that they "forgot" to do part of the alterations I asked for (and paid in advance for).

The point here is that my experience with David`s Bridal was not even a real experience. It is a help yourself store and people are not willing to help. The alterations can easily be a nightmare since the taylor are awful, rude, and don`t really do a neat job. (not to mention the alterations forgotten).

I love the dress I have. I end up happier that they forgot some of the alterations, but I would have appreciate more honesty on the alterations possibilities, and more courtesy in the store in general. You can buy your dress there as long as you don`t need help but DO NOT GET YOUR ALTERATIONS AT DAVID`S. You will waste your time and risk to ruin your dress.
