Reception Info. Included In The Invitation?
My fiance and I are getting married where we are having our reception and it is a buffet reception. Is it okay to include on the bottom of the invitation, "buffet reception immediately following the ceremony." The ballroom is literally right outside the doors of where the ceremony is going to be (cocktail hour is also in the same area). I am printing my own invitations, so I need some advice on the invitation/reception ediquette. My friends say "no" to the buffet reception being included in the ceremony invitation, but personally I don`t see why not.
If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to comment!
Thanks!

I included my reception info in my invitations, I just got them back and they look great. I say go ahead with it.

Oh, no -- did I do that wrong? I wrote dinner reception to follow but it is going to be buffet-style. Is that misleading?

Ariana,
I don`t think that it is misleading at all. You didn`t say sit down dinner reception. Most people probably won`t even notice. Don`t worry about it.

Is your buffet consisting of entrees and salads or is it more finger foods? Sometimes buffets include filet mignon....I didn`t know this until I went for my final appointment at the reception site and they said I could serve filet mignon at the buffet! I think if it is finger foods and hor de overs, you should put "cocktail reception to follow" I don`t think the word buffet is glamorous enough for your big day...you need to play it up....if it`s entrees you are serving at the buffet I suggest you put what I put on mine "Dinner and Dancing to follow" (or if you`re not having dancing) "Reception immediately following". Good luck! Try www.bridesave.com and go to their help with writing invitations section. This was super helpful to me.

Including the reception information on the invitation it the right way to go, especially since the ceremony and reception are being held at the same location.

Don`t say "buffet reception". Just say "Reception immediately following ceremony".
