Wedding May 17, 2008 - Syndi Shy Caterer
My sons wedding was this past Saturday w/ Syndi Shy as caterer. When I showed up at venue to decorate at 10 am, she had already been there and had her set up done. She showed up early, her, her 2 servers and bartender were dressed professionally. All of them were so gracious the entire evening. Plenty of food...guests loved it. Even went above and beyond and when I got frazzled...did some wedding planner stuff for me. If anyone doubts this message, let me know, my mother even took pictures of bride and groom with catering staff. We had a GREAT experience!

Well, I`m glad that you had a positive experience, but my sister`s wedding this past weekend was a major fiasco. Syndi repeatedly made decisions without conferring with my sister and her husband, as well as ignored their requests for certain services and complained and yelled at them when they pointed out that what they wanted wasn`t happening, and they wanted her to fix it. She did not show up at the wedding site until 5 p.m. The day before, when she had promised to be there at 9 a.m., and on the day of, when she was supposed to be there in the morning, she didn`t show up until in the afternoon either. And then she had the nerve to complain to me and my fiance about my own sister and her husband!
Unfortunately, Syndi took advantage of my mother`s good nature and pretended to befriend her. However, she never sent my mom a single invoice or receipt of payment to show the costs of her services or proof of payment. And she continually tried to get my mom to pay for mistakes she had made, which could`ve been avoided if she had listened to the bride and groom when they told her what they wanted for their wedding. BEWARE. She also has had several charges against her for operating a bad business, and the Ohio Attorney General`s office shut her business down in May of 2008. It`s a shame that my mom isn`t technologically efficient, because all she would`ve had to do was look on the internet to see what a bad nightmare she was inviting into her life. Hire her at risk to your money, and your wedding day.

Oh, and she charged them for all their guests invited to the wedding, not the number that RSVP`ed even though they gave the final count by the deadline listed on the contract. Unbelievable. And we are talking a 60 person difference.
