Asking For Money Instead Of Gifts
I was just wondering if anyone has advice as to how you can ask for money instead of gifts for your wedding. I have been with my fiance for 4 years and we have a 2 year old daughter, I`m only 21 and paying for my wedding on my own which is hard. I already have house hold things and would rather be given money to help with the wedding and honeymoon costs. So is there any way of telling everyone this without being rude? PLEASE HELP

If you do not want to ask for money straight out and you have a travel agent planning your honeymoon, you can suggest guest purchase gift certificates from your agent or let them know were to make deposits (work out a system with the agent to keep record of who and how much).
You can also make your guest aware that travelers checks are avalible at their local bank. These are the equivalent of cash. Just include a little card with your invite which you can purchase from staples and print them your self . (They resemble business cards)BUT HEY word of mouth always works when all else fails.
