Wedding Dress & Destination Wedding?

I am trying to figure out if I should ship or travel with my wedding gown.

It a fairly heavy, poofy A-line dress and I don`t think I want to carry it with me on the plane.

Has anyone out there ever shipped their dress ahead of time to the resort ? I am assuming the nicer resorts should be able to steam before the ceremony?

Would love your experience/thoughts on this.

Hi-

I work at a packaging and shipping store and we have had several brides in shipping their gowns to their destination wedding. So you would not be the only shipping your gown. However, I will take this chance to warn you. UPS and FedEx are wonderful carriers and handle thousands of packages every day, however, problems do sometimes arise. Packages may get misrouted or lost. These problems are typically able to be remedied, but they are potential problems. When deciding what to do with your dress take that into consideration.
