1939 WATER PAINTINGS
HI. I HAVE A PAIR (SET) OF ORIGINAL WATER COLOR PAINTINGS BOTH SIGNED IN PENCIL BY THE ARTIST "SOGATA" IN MINT CONDITION. THEY BOTH HAVE "COPYRIGHTED 1939 NEWMAN DECOR, INC." IN THE BACK. ALSO IN LARGE PENCIL WRITING (522 45 71B), BOTH OF THEM. IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY INFO ON THESE PLEASE HELP ME OUT A BIT. THANK YOU SO MUCH. PHIL :)

I too have a pair. An asian man and an asian woman. Looks like watercolor on rice paper. Apparently the Newman Decor Inc. Commissioned a group of artist to create airbrush paintings to match the furniture. I have recognized many of the artists works as the colors are identical though the styles vary. Harris is one of the more prolific artists in that group. I have seen his work sold for as much as $200. You are the 2nd person seeking the name Sogata. I have yet to see another`s prints. What do yours look like? Best wishes

I also have a pair of Sogata paintings, both asian females standing on a black vase. Do you have any info on artist?
