DO NOT GO 2 BIZCOCHO DE COLORES
If you are looking to get a Dominican cake made do not go to Bizcocho De Colores on Sherman Avenue in Washington Heights. I am SOOOO UPSET. I went there for my son`s 1st birthday cake & it was absolutely terrible! I got a so called Baby Einstein Caterpillar cake. When I went there I tasted the filling & thought it was delicious. Mind you, I was telling the girl what I wanted on it & she wasn`t even writing it down! We had to put down a deposit for the cake. Here`s the best part, we were told to be there at 2pm the day of my son`s party. The cake wasn`t even ready & his party started at 430pm & we live in Yonkers! The cake was so ugly that I myself could have done a better job! They didn`t leave any room to write Happy Birthday & his name & when they did it, while I was there waiting, it was already after 3pm! u couldn`t even make out what it said! there was nowhere to put his candle & they did the whole cake the opposite of what I asked! I wanted to cry I was so angry! Even better, the cake tasted dry & was the worst Dominican cake I`ve ever tasted. $93 for crap! I had my sister in law call them to complain because I was so upset & they had the nerve to just tell her next time we want a cake they`ll do it for free. My son`s party was perfect except this ugly, bad tasting cake & the girl who took my order was nonchalant & almost rude. DO NOT GO THERE! TRUST ME! I am still not over it! I would never ever recommend them to anyone. They even had the nerve to have someone put up a good review about them afterwards knowing I was upset & they never even had 1 review to begin with!undefined

They have made all my cakes for every event but I quesioned their skills for my wedding cake. I was very picky & made sure to speak to the head chef & give her my specific details on how i wanted it and didn`t want it. She told me she would take care of it personally - she sure did. Cake was better than I expected!
I`m sorry you had a bad experince it was one of their bad days :(

Try Nitin on Grand Concourse at E 184th Stree, Bronx, NY.
We always buy ours there... Is $35 per lb for a standard cake, taste is good, usually ready when they say, and I presume it is closer to you at Yonkers too...

I bought a cake for my wife`s birthday. The fillings i wanted were done correctly. The only beef i have with them is that they lost interpretation of the colors i wanted on the cake.i asked for purple and gold. They made a white and lavender cake with gold specs.
Here`s the issue with them...
They have inexperienced people taking orders. Now i understand that in order to get experience you need to do the job, but if the workers there would take the time to ask the person who actually make the cakes if they make the cakes that way then, if i want, to i make changes to my design or go somewhere else. They don`t do that, the person takes the order and then the day the cake is needed, they bring out what their interpretation is. Then you`re stuck. So you don`t have a choice but to look like an ass to your loved one or take the cake and play it off like you know what you`re doing.
Being fair the cake tasted good...
Here`s the solution.....as the customer we have to be more diligent with what we want when we order....it has to be asked if they make what we want if not then we can ask them how they make their cakes....then and only then we should decide....
I won`t completely cut them off...i know what i`m going to say next time i go there to make sure we `re both on the same page.but they will never be my first option....
