Flower Girl(s)

My daughter is planning an August 03 wedding, she had decided that she wanted two flower girls, one for her and one to throw flowers for the bridesmaids. The problem is that the future grooms` sister (mother to the flower girls who will threow for the bridesmaids) is upset because she thinks that is is a demotion to have her daughter throw for the bridesmaids and not the bride.
What is the proper edquitte for this.
