I am selling a new, never worn except for photos Monique Lhuillier-inspired wedding gown, in the VERY popular style "Scarlet" for $900. The real dress costs more than $4,000, so I purchased this one made by famous Bolivian designer, Erika Weise Haute Couture, instead for much less. This is NOT one of the "knock-off dresses from China" that you can buy on eBay!
I have tried on the "real" ML Scarlet, and I actually prefer this one, as it is not so flimsy and has some crinoline in the bottom of the mermaid skirt, giving it a more "bride" feel -- versus just wearing an evening gown. If you love the way the Scarlet dress looks in photos, I suggest going to a bridal salon that carries ML to try on the gown and see what I mean.
The gown is perfect for someone who is 5`4" and wearing 3" heels.....or someone who is 5`5" and wearing 2" heels....or someone who is 5`6" and wearing 1" heels -- you get the picture :) I think it would be very difficult to hem or add length to this gown.
I am a size 0 in street clothes and would have had to have the dress taken in quite a bit on the sides; it would probably fit someone who is a 2/4/6 in street clothes, but I don`t think it could be let out.
It really is a BEAUTIFUL gown, made of very high-quality alencon lace and silk satin liner. I have seen some knock-offs of this dress, and believe me, the quality of the lace can make or break the whole thing! The only reason I am selling it (and this hurts, believe me) is that our wedding venue changed and I am getting another gown that suits it better. Also, I am only trying to recoup what I paid for it (or my fiancee will kill me for buying another dress!)
I will include with the dress a mantilla veil with matching lace. This alone is worth at least $100. I will also include a 4" wide champagne colored satin sash that I purchased from the same fabric company that ML gets their sashes from. I was planning on wearing it during the reception for a fun "something extra" once the veil came off.
If you are in the Milwaukee/Chicago area would like to try the dress on, please send me an email and we can set something up -- I live in downtown Milwaukee. This really is a great deal for a bride who wants the ML dress, but can`t (or won`t) pay almost 5k for it. Thanks!
