Scary Bridesmaids
Three of my five bridesmaids weigh 250 pounds a piece and one of them nine months pregnant, so we are talking HUGE women here and they are already busting the seams in the powder blue gowns they bought at David`s Bridal. Now I`m worried that the sight of these enormous women in powder blue is going to scare all the wedding guests!!!! I`m going to tell them they have to lose 100 pounds or else they can`t be in my wedding!!!!

Powder blue, eh? Knowing that they are plus-sized to begin with, a different color may have been a better choice. I know you are worried because it is your wedding, but how do you think these ladies will feel being paraded down an aisle looking like big, blue cotton candy puffs? I`m sure that this will be no more a pleasant experience for them than it will be for you. As humiliated as they might fell, they would still do it, though. Why? Because they`re your friends. Don`t take advantage of their kindness by embarrassing them. I would e-mail or call the women and ask them how they would feel wearing either navy blue or black. If need be, YOU can get the new dresses since they already paid for their cotton candy dresses. You can still keep your powder blue theme if you use navy, especially if you get them bouquets with blue and white flowers or similar. Each of the bridesmaids could then choose her own STYLE (but all the same color and fabric) at a place like David`s bridal or even online. This has actually become a new trend and they will thank you for it!! Your pictures will be so much more pretty if you do this as well and your guests will think you are SO CREATIVE. Your wedding can still be beautiful (actually more so!) and will be alot less likely to be a horror story your bridesmaids end up talking about behind your back (and believe me, they already are!!!) Hope this helps...

I was thinking the same thing - she`s probably HIDEOUS! Maybe the powder blue bridesmaids would actually detract from the impact...

You are so rude!!!!
If you don`t like the appearance of your bridesmaids, why did you ask them to be in your wedding in the first place.
When you look back on your wedding day, do you want to remember having fun with your friends, or having twigs in your pictures that you either don`t really know or like.
If you have a problem, have one maid of honor and leave it at that. To say that you will make your friends lose 100 pds. Just to be in your wedding is horrible. Don`t you think those women would lose the weight if they could on their own? What kind of friend are you to say such a thing. Most bridesmaids stay in the wedding because they want to support their friends. Shame on you.

Cat - don`t buy into Layla`s posts - she is a self-appointed humorist (if you could call her that...). She has posts throughout several of the boards and is apparently entertained by all of us responding in "horror" to her questions... Just thought you should be in the know.
