~*~*~*~*Colours For Midievil Wedding~*~*~*~*~
I am having a bit of a dispute with my own mother on the colours of MY wedding.
I have planned a midievil wedding and me being the bride, ofcourse I am in white. Everyone else is in black & red with bits of gold trim. I believe these colours represent mieievil colours. She thinks it looks gothic .... (which is totally not the look I am going for)
Someone help! Am I being rediculous?!?!

Sweetie, it is your wedding. YOUR choices. It is all up to you! :) For it is your Day! :)
Those colors sound wonderful to me.
Yet, if your mom is still being... Well...
Some other colors to think of might be,
Hunter Green, or navy blue.
Good luck...:)

I know it`s my wedding and all but do the colours sound gothic?! I understand there is a fine line between the two, but geeze, I think it would be enchanting ....
I dunno, Any other suggestions?!

I don`t think they sound to goth. Your not dying your hair black, and wearing 5 pointed stars are you? And no one is painting every finger nail they have black?
I think your wedding will be wonderful! :) What are you doing for flowers??? Flower wreaths in hair would be pretty... :) A good idea for invites might be little mini scrolls maybe on ivory parchment paper... Tied with gold cord?
Yet again, it is all up to you! It is your prefect day!

First of all I think that those colors sound fine. I am also doing a medieval theme myself. One thing that most people seem to get confused is the term gothic. The original gothic period is around the same time as the medieval period. What most people seem to think of when they hear the word gothic is the `modern` gothic look of black hair, black clothes, and black nails. You sound like you are doing fine with time period of choice.

Go to a costume store and see what colors they have on their rentals for that time period clothing. Also look at artwork from that time period and at sites on the internet. Type medieval wedding + pictures (or however you spell it) and see if you can find photos other people have posted of their similarly themed weddings. Then do the same research for gothic stuff and see where those colors show up. If you love those colors then go for it, but take your moms words to heart. I know first hand what it is like to want your special day YOUR way, and to not want to be bullied into something else. But your mom is an outsider`s view which can be helpful, and who knows, she might be right. I would hate for you to see the final product and then burst out in tears because all you can think when you look at them is GOTHIC, GOTHIC, GOTHIC!!!
Good luck!!

I think that the blacks are a bit much. I really like the midevil look and it was one of my prom themes. I would go with an ivory color dress and maybe small black accent pieces would be nice but i think a dark green and a navy blue also sound very nice. That`s what i would go with. And maybe go with collumns in your pictures.
