Re:Wishing Wells

I have been reading the posts regarding wishing wells and such and IF the requests should be put in the invitations...as a woman who is having a second wedding and who has been to numerous wedding I can`t see the issue...tacky? I dont think so I think it is responsible for ANY adult to let people know that they do not require a particlar thing...those who dont feel a monetary gits is right will go ahead and get a gift anyway.

I have been to many wedding which used the wishing well gifting idea and personally I think its fabulous, I would MUCH rather give money to someone who requests it than an unwanted gift and lets get over ourselves if we like to pretend that gifts wont be given ...who says its bad ettiquite to ask for what you want anyhow????? some wedding book....throw it out!!! its every individuals choice as to how and why they choose to do whatever they do at their wedding and I say if thats what you want then do it! It has been an acceptable tradition in many cultures for money to be given and not gifts.

Anyhow for those that want to do it, I think you SHOULD put it in the invite especially for those older couples whose family isnt organising and/or paying for their wedding....people get too damn caught up in what is "right` , "proper" and "politically correct" have fun and enjoy your wedding girls and forget the "should dos"
