Backyard Wedding

I am planning a backyard wedding for my stepdaughter in October. We have rented a house with a large swimming pool in the backyard. The ceremony and reception will be taking place around the pool area. The pool takes up most of the yard and unfortunately, we just found out, it will be covered that time of the year. I was hoping to float mums in the water but now it seems it will be quite an eye sore. Do you have any ideas on how I can make it more attractive for that time of the year.
