Aisle Runner For Outdoow Garden Wedding

Runners made from real carpet work best for use out of doors. Plastic and light weight weight (non woven) fabric runners tend to blow around in the wind. Light weight runners can be taped to a paved surface or spiked to grass but it`s a lot of work and results vary. Runners on plush thick grass also tend to feel spongy when walked on, making it awkward to keep your balance, and pose an additional a hazard of high heels poking through the light wieght fabric or plastic. If you must have an aisle runner for a garden wedding your local home improvement store may carry a light color indoor/outdoor carpet that you can cut into long strips and join at the ends.

I would skip the aisle runner as it poses a tripping hazard. You could line the aisle though with lanterns on the ground or flower petels strewn all the way down. For a fall wedding you could have carved lighted pumpkins to guide your way or in the spring or summer have candleholders, lanterns or such.

I am skipping the aisle runner and using ivory rose petals. I bought 210 cups (freeze dried) on line. They are biodegradeable so clean up isn`t an issue.

Thank you everyone for your help. Jewel, Where did you buy your freeze dried petals? What``s the cost? Could I do it myself? I have decided that I am not going to use runner, and just put rose petals in the aisle.

Lillian I bought mine at flyboynaturals. They have tons of sales, but I bought the budget petals for the aisle runner and toss- I figure no one is going to look closely at them, I also bought the regular quality to decorate tables.

The budget petals are 66 cups for @ $80 they say its enough for 72 people to toss and to lightly carpet 4`x9` aisle. The buget petals come in a pastel mix and ivory.
But they will custom mix colors in the regular petals.
