16th Birthday

I am planning a 16th Birthday celebration for my twins (son and daughter)
My daughter wants the traditional "sweet 16" theme in pink and my son will have black. How do I incorporate the theme colors in the invitation (hand made) without making my son feel uncomfortable with the girly pink
They would like their guests to wear pink/black.

What if you were to do the invitation in black cardstock with silver text and then use a soft pink Vellum inside the invitation.
