I need inexpensive ideas for fall centerpieces. I`m getting married on 11/29/03. I have about 42 tables also, the hall were I`m getting married will not allow candles. I would like to know other ideas besides using candles. Thank you.

Alana,
I`m an 11/03/03 wedding also. We bought 12 inch glass vases at Hobby Lobby and filled the bottom with pumpkin spice potourri then bought silk fall flowers and filled them with them. Rich rusts, oranges, reds,
Yellows. Tied a gold bow around the neck and then I put an ivory bun candle on top (it fit perfectly in the top.) but you wouldn`t have to put them in.They came out beautifully. I was fortunate that we bought everything last November and it all was on clearence, all together they were about $6.00 a piece. Everyone that has seen them rave and say how professional they turned out. We will put them in the center of each table and then place fall silk leaves around them.
Good luck....I`d love to hear what else you are doing since we are follow November 29th `ers!

Hello jemmy,
Thanks for getting back to me. That sounds like a good Idea. I think it`s going to be hard for me to find some of that kind of stuff. I`m using oil lamps that I got at a 99 cents store. Since I can`t light them, I put potpouri in the bottom of the lamp and screwed on the top instead of filling it with oil. I have that so far, bu I might just take up your Idea with the vases and silk fall flowers to put them in between my lamps. Thank you so much and good luck with your wedding!!

Alma, I was just at Michaels and they have their spring flowers on clearence, all that stuff comes out so early...probably by the beginning of summer you`ll be able to find the fall stuff. Good Luck!

We used silk fall flowers (sunflowers, mums, deep red roses, etc.) from the $1.00 store and hot glued them to pumpkins. Then we inserted a wire into the top of the pumpkins and attached a photos of me and my husband. Around the stem we tied a bow. You can use ribbon the same color as your bridesmaid dresses. Mine were burgundy. They were cute, inexpensive and fun centerpieces...and no candles were used!

What about apples, big baskets of apples and mini pumpkins and gourds would be beautiful, and at the end of the night have the apples divided into smaller baskets for take home for guests, w/ some gold ribbon. Also the cake and champagne idea is always a good one, get small 8 inch cakes from the grocery store white frosted costs about 4 dollars tops, decorate w/ a bold rose on top or marzipan candies, provide a serving knife, and surround w/ 2 bottles of sparkling wine per table w/ god balloons. Have a larger cake made for your head table. This is not only pretty but cuts down on catering charges. Have the DJ or best man announce that the couple at each table married longest gets the honor of joining you in cutting there tables cake. Fun too

I just had a fall wedding for my step daughter and we put white plastic on all tables and spread leaves down them instead of garland then you can either have a balloon display in the center or candles we did both. The leaves really set the tables off as a warm setting. Also you can place the leaves on the cake. We had got the leaves at Big lots in Springfield or also WalMart had some too. We also had an arch with white lights and tool with leaf garland coming down and some fall flower arrangement at the top of arch.
Balloons color can be gold, orange, yellow, and burgundy or even forrest green.
In the punch we did hawaain punch orange with sprite and froze leaf shaped ice molds with burgundy food coloring to make the ice a more burgundy color and it was really pretty.
