Help! Question Regarding Shower Invitations
Hi. This is actually a repeat of the message titled "Registry for Wedding Gifts", but I thought I`d title my post with a question. Anyways...
I`m giving a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law and I`ve seen shower invitations that reflect where the bride and groom are registered for gifts. Is it proper to put where you`re registered for a wedding gift on a shower invitation? I thought shower gifts were separate from wedding gifts.
Thanks! Denny

The way we have always done it here was to put where the couple is registered for on the shower invitations but not the wedding invitations. The registry is used for shower purposes and by word of mouth if someone is wanting to buy something for the wedding gift for the couple. There has been many postings on here about whether or not the couple should put the place that they registered on the wedding invitations. The purpose of a shower is to give the couple gifts they would like and that is why they register for it. It is late so I hope this message makes sense and helps you out!! Hope everything works out for you!!

I live in the midwest and here couples register and then the shower invitations reflect where the couple is registered. Guests then buy from the registery or on their own. 95% of those going to the wedding will give cards with checks but others may buy from the register. The most important thing here is that no mention of gifts be sent out with the wedding invites as this is considered tacky.

I only go to wedding showers when I know there is going to be some really good food there.

Layla, your cheep, you should go because you want to be there for the bride and to help celebrate, not because of what they are serving. If your that concerned, eat at mcdonalds before you go .... God! That`s the rudest thing I have ever heard!

I wouldn`t worry about layla. Sounds like everything He/She/It has to say is a joke and specifically intended to rile people up.
