Registry For Wedding Gifts

Hi. I`m giving a bridal shower for my future sister-in-law and I`ve seen on shower invitations that reflect where the bride and groom are registered for gifts. Is it proper to put where you`re registered for a wedding gift on a shower invitation? I thought shower gifts were separate from wedding gifts.

Thanks! Denny

You register and then when the shower invitations go out you can included this information on them. Also if people ask your family, friends can use word of mouth to get the word out. Never should you mention anything about gifts on the wedding invitation. If they want to purchase gifts from the registry they certainly can, but should not be mentioned by you! Where we live 98-100% of guests to the wedding we give a card with a check in it.

The store we registered at gave us registry cards to be put in with the invitation with our names and registry number. I know Macy`s does this too. I filled them out and gave them to my mom for whenever they sent out the invites (it was a surprise shower).

It worked well - we got lots, including checks but people were able to get the web address from the card and order on-line too!

I went to a shower recently where the invites were store bought and handwritten and they wrote where they were registered inside. I didnt find it tacky at all!! Its good to know where.
