Stepmom Wedding Attire

What does a stepmom of the bride wear to a April wedding in California? I live in the midwest and have not got a clue. Do I wear the same thing I wore to my son`s wedding or would that be inappropriate since she is not my biological daughter and her real mother will be at the wedding
