Help Please
I need some advice. I have four bridesmaids and I have been engaged for over 1 year and my fiancee and I have 6 months to the wedding. I have great bridesmaids in the fact that they are planning a good trip for me (which I am contributing to) and bridal shower (kept small). I have offered to pay for their shoes and jewelry (obviously other gifts) to help aid in the cost of the wedding. I have found the perfect dress for them. Three of them tried it on (one lives out of state) and they all looked great in it. The cost is $220 and this is after me searching for 9 months, hundreds of dresses, literally going 5 weekends to look. The cost is too high, yet they can all afford this. I don`t want to seem spoiled and they know that they are appreciated but I would do the same for them. Help.

I know $220 feels like a lot to ask & being a bridesmaid is a big commitment. Giving their jewelry & accessories as gifts is a great idea!
$220 is the average cost of gowns, these days. As a planner, I`ve shopped around, a lot!
When I`m working with a bride, I assist the bridesmaids at no cost. I get them discounts on all the shower decor, food, favors, etc.
Maybe a planner in your area could get vendors to discount the shower. Call me & tell me what state you`re in. I could make the phone calls to get lower prices! Planners know which vendors will negotiate!

Sorry to take the other side, but I would not make my best friends spend $220 on a dress......With alterations, it could be closer to $300. Too expensive in my eyes.
