Quince

Our first daughters Quinceneara - we had at St. Rose and then at the Maidu Center. The caterer served a very expensive but dry carne asada and chicken fajaitas on paper plates. The Hall ended up costing me over $1600 with security guards - way too expensive! The cake was delivered late, but was delicious. We had to hire a quartet because we couldn`t get a Mariachi. The only Mariachi that was available was not a Mariachi they were something different.

Now, I have spent 4 months already trying to plan this event. My second daughter turns 15 on June 8th. We have been having severe problems with the scheduling of a priest and the date. First we had it scheduled for June 28th, but two priests backed out because they were moving. So we have finally found a priest (that still does these mass`s in English) but he is on vacation. The church will not set a date until they speak to the priest. So we are hoping that we can change the date to July 12th now because it is too close to the June date and we can`t get any hall ect...we need the extra time to get things organized. So we are hoping this will happen on July 12th.

I am hoping that we can confirm the date next week. So that we can then firm up halls ect....
As you can see I am frustrated, and although I have done some checking on these issues I may not know all of the secrets to finding the easy or best way to get these things organized. We need help in finding people we can trust. Costs can get outrageous and we are trying the best we can.
One way you can help is to give me some suggestions ... Do you have any suggestions about hall, caters, and or Mariachi`s that we can trust in the Sacramento/Roseville/Rocklin area?

Considerations:
1. Church is St. Rose`s of Roseville: Reception Hall needs to be close to the church. (Maidu is too costly over $1300 for the large hall - small halls are too small) Hall needs to accommodate 100 people, plus DJ and a traditional dance that is done by all participants. Okay to use hall caterer if can make close to authentic, some guests will be coming from Mexico.
2. There will be approx. 100 people.
3. We would like to offer beer and a champagne toast, and perhaps other soda`s or soft drinks.
4. Good and as close to authentic Mexican food as we can get is important. A dependable good caterer :... Drinks, food, set-up, with china and glasses, including clean-up and serve for $10-13/pperson.
5. Good reliable Mariachi`s are hard to find. Even if they are not a complete Mariachi... 7-10 are okay. We would be willing to pay $400/hour for 2 hours max. The Mariachi`s I have contacted are all busy and some are very unreliable... Plus are not real Mariachi`s... This is alot of money to put out -- no guarantees...

I will continue to look for the halls, caterer, DJ, and Mariachi but would appreciate any suggestions you may have.
Thanks again for your help.

My daughter`s quinceanera is on July 26 in Sacramento. We are using Fiesta catering. They have a restaurant (El Cabillo Blanco) on Stockton Blvd which we went to to try out the food. Very good. We are having carnitas and steak ranchero. The person to ask for is Rubin. However, because we haven`t actually had the quinceanera yet, I don`t know how they will actually do. But so far, I am very happy with my contacts with them.

Do you have a choreographer yet? That is our next thing to figure out.
