Melody Reed Or Whatever Her Name Is

Her cell phone is now off of the hook or something. Her home phone has no answer & her email isn`t accepting email b/c it is full. I don`t get it... Why were some orders filled? Did everyone pay in advance?

I am Ray`s friend that ordered dresses and did not receive them. She has keep in contact with me up until about a week ago. At last conversation, she had just been released from the hospital and had also just moved. Does anyone know about this? I have the same numbers as above. Does anyone have an address or other phone contacts for her? My wedding is 2 months away. I need those dresses! What should my next step be??? Please help! I also will fly there :) !!!

I am waiting on a dress from her right now. I just tried that email, again & it says she has reached her storage limit. Maybe yours is different if you aren`t using hotmail...it may come back to you. Anyway, I am waiting on a dress that was to be shipped two different times. I too was told she was sick. Then, she emailed 2 Saturdays ago & said she would again ship. Then, nothing. Can`t find her. "Sister" said she was in the hospital. That was this past Sat. Now, no one will answer & cell is diconected or busy or somethign...

Yes, my last contact with her was on April 17th. That was when she told me she had just gotten out of the hospital and promised that my dresses be shipped asap and would arrive the following Thursday or Friday. I am getting so frustrated. How did you reach her sister? Same number? Did you pay through paypal? We filed a complaint along with numerous other brides as it sounds. Let me know if you find out anything new. When is your wedding?

My wedding is November. Her "sister" answered Melody`s cell phone. I had never talked to Melody, but was told by others that her & her sister sound alike. Possible, but still fishy considering all else. Now, the cell won`t even ring through...

I forgot to mention, when I sent deposit money to her last at the dream_maker address (through pay pal), the name that was registered on the account was Lynn Clarke.

I too am in the same situation. I also have starkeeper3@aol.com as her email address. I have sent her numerous emails and have not gotten a reply since April 16 when she told me that she was getting out of the hospital and would send my order ASAP. I have not been able to get ahold of anyone on her phone....it just rings.

Watch out for her, girls. She IMed me offering to sell me a gown she saw I had posted about on www.theknot.com. I asked her which she had in stock for immediate delivery and she told me which gowns. I told her I wanted different gowns/ colors/ sizes, and magically they were all suddenly in stock, too. She had forgotten.

She sent me out a "contract" which was a misspelled e-mail with very few details, except that the dress would arrive in 10 days. I wrote back changing the contract (thanks to my one year in Contracts class at the Ohio State U. School of law...) and she approved the changes. The changes included that I would pay her only through an escrow service at www.escrow.com and that I would pay the associated fee. If the gown never showed up or showed up past the deadline, she would pay the fee (approx. $25).

Then, she actually went to the escrow site and figured out how it works. The buyer pays the escrow service plus a small fee. The escrow service notifies the seller that the money has been received. The seller ships the item and ONLY THEN is allowed to receive the money. (She wanted me to pay by paypal, which despite their posted guarantees told me over the phone that they guarantee that they will TRY THEIR BEST to get your money back from the seller in the event that there is a problem, but they`re only 65% successful.) When she saw that she couldn`t just take my money and keep it for months and months, she balked. Despite our contract, she blocked me from her e-mail list and the MSN messenger list and hasn`t responded to any communication from me since then. I`m assuming she`s moved on to scamming people who are less knowledgeable about escrow, paypal, or contracts. Watch out for her. In case she is pulling any of this on you, here is her contact information. Get to her quickly, as there are rumors on other message boards that she has told people she is planning on "moving out of state very soon". If you paid her and she keeps making excuses, call Paypal or your credit card company immediately. If they can`t help (for example, you can only file a paypal claim 30 days after you pay, but no later) then CALL THE POLICE. She has taken the payments for many dresses, but only delivered two so far that I can confirm. She may come through for some people, but to me, it wasn`t worth the risk. I suggest using bridesave.com, pearl`s place, or another discount bridal "warehouse". Good luck to you all.

Why does she have so many addresses? Well there are more compalints on theknot and party pop message boards, do a serach for Melody. Someone will have information about whose name and bank account money was placed. Things can at least be faught. Please complain to BBB, FBI internet fraud and police. She tells so many stories that I would love to find the name of hospital she says she was in and check to see if she was a patient. When I placed my order she had a samily memeber in the hospital and one that died but you will see that all over the place.

Wow, I`m glad I read all these before I sent the money. I wrote the check, and held onto it. I wasn`t going to send it until I got my wedding glasses..... I`m glad I got worried after a week or two and decided to check her out... To think I almost put the money in the mail box today!!! She asked me to over-night her the check, and I got a little wierded out by that, so I made up some excuse as to why I wouldn`t do that. I am so thankful that someone decided to post on her and people responded. I knew it was too good to be true. I am calling that police officer right now to put in a complaint of my own!

WHAT? She`s at it again? Make SURE you call that officer. I wonder how many women`s wedding days she is ruining by stealing their gown money, plus allowing them to think a dress is on the way when it`s really not. She is evil, I hope she gets to sit in a cell for awhile.

I can`t believe she`ll still at it. She being brought up on some huge charges and if convicted, which I`m sure she will be, she`ll be spending a long time in that jail cell. Seriously call Deputy Carter right away!
