Wedding Consultant Certification

I have decided to become a wedding planner/consultant. I need to make some smart decisions, so I need to know which programs I can trust: US Event Guide, Longevity.com, Weddings Beautiful, just to name a few. I do not want to start out on the thr wrong foot, I need honest and smart advice. So if anyone out there has been through these programs please continue this thread and let me know.

I`m finding the same problem...I have been doing wedding cakes since I was 15yrs. Old and have worked a few weddings with a photographer friend of mine. I`m really wanting to break into the consulting world (weddings and events) and not sure where to start. The info I received on Thompson School (affiliated with ABC) looks like the best so far for wedding consultant certification. Let`s trade info when it comes our way. Good Luck!

I have just handed in my last assignment for my certification. I chose SuperWeddings.com which is affiliated w/ International Institute of Weddings. It teaches you how to come up with a business plan and the ins and outs of working within the wedding industry.
