Black Bridesmaid Dresses

Hi! I am planning a May wedding for 2008. I have been to numerous shops for bridesmaid dresses and the only thing I have found that I love is avaiable in fall colors or black. It is an evening wedding but can you do black in the spring? I don`t want it to feel like a funeral or winter time? Please help!
