Destination Wedding VS Eloping?
Considering the expense of having a traditional wedding, my boyfriend and I are discussing the possibility of either eloping or having a destination wedding.
I am wondering if having a destination wedding is worth while? I would like to give friends and family the option of coming with us to Mexico or some place.... But I am scared that I am going to become some sort of a travel agent or hotel front desk person!
Eloping is the other option simply because there would be less hassles with family arrangements.
Has anyone else had to overcome this issue?

I`m trying to run off to costa rica to elope. But so far, I haven`t been able to find much information or someone to arrange it for a decent price.

Keep costs in mind for your guests when having a destination wedding. A friend is having a destination wedding in Hawaii. The airfare is costing guests a lot more than anticipated. She thought summer was cheap. Unfortunately the chosen month/date is considered high season. With the down economy, $1000-1500/person for a trip is a lot of money, especially for the closest family and friends. It`s another thing if you and your fiance are paying everyone.

Good point! I would hate that saving myself money would cost others WAYYY too much. Eloping seems to be looking more and more appealing.
Money money money.... It sucks but everything revolves around it....

Friends just got married in St. Thomas, over the weekend, I really, really wanted to go but for the weekend it was near $1500 - way to much when I`m saving for a wedding next year. However, in planning my wedding I see exactly why they did it. I would so elope if i didn`t put a down payment on the hall and almost everything else. It`s tuff planning a wedding, exp. If you don`t have the time. So, before you start putting money down be sure it`s what you want to do.
Good Luck!!
