When I did my Sweet 16 and not (Quincenera) cause that is Sweet 15 for latin people. The 16 people I chose to be in my Sweet 16 (8 girls and 8 guys) had them lit when I was walking in. (MY GREATEST FRIENDS OR FAMILY) Walked in to the song (16 Candles by The Crests). I think that`s who sang it...the song specifically says it......."Blow out, the candles" I feel that is how the ceremony should be done. And the 17th candle is last to be blown and that would be her partners candle.
