Need Centerpiece Ideas HELP!!!
Hi, I am getting married in July. I am a widow who thought to never fall in love again, but here I am, suddenly engaged and planning a wedding in 3 months!! I am on a tight budget but would like to have lovely centerpieces, hopefully at about $5 a piece. My colors are silver and blue and the style is medieval. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks so much!!

Silver and royal blue are my colours too! I just looked into floral centerpieces and were told they start at about $45 EACH, so that`s definitely out. I`m looking for some inexpensive decorating ideas too.
Sorry I don`t have more to offer than another plea for advice!

Do you have a dollar store in your area? They usually have candles & holders. Floating candles are nice, perhaps in a bowl on a mirror?
Or, have you thought of silk or plastic flowers?
If you don`t want flowers and just need a centerpiece, how about styrofoam cones wrapped with tulle & glue silk or plastic flowers on them? Done right, they might look like a princess` cone hat! That`s all I`ve got off the top of my head-I`ll let you know if I come up with anything else...

Depending on your theme...I`m thinking about getting plastic punch bowls (party store) filling with sand, seashells, and tealights. I`ve also seen vases at the table with pinwheels for summer/4rth of July, and potted plants from a nursery with ribbon around them. OR seasonal fruit from the area in their baskets with ribbon (ie strawberries) good luck!

Try balloons... I`m doing mine for about 1.50 a piece, the actual party store I took the idea from sells them for about 8.00. I can send pictures after my reception the 27th of April if you are interested just e-mail. They are cheap, easy and cute

I agree about the dollar store! I just saw a bunch of really cute candle holders there that would hold one floating candle or some potpourri or something. I also saw glass bowls that you could use for centerpieces and glass marbles there. At AC Moore, they had all colors of votive candles 5/$1. Those would even be good for favors. :-)
A good place for floating candles is

$.50 each and you can wrap them for favors too!

I have a friend who make centerpieces with roses. She makes them in all colors. You could set them on a round mirror and possibly give them away at the end of the ceremony. They are glass votives surround by silk rose petals. If you have an email address or fax number, I will send you pictures of them.

To add onto the one with the fish bowl and the floating candles...my best friend is getting married July 17 and her soon to be mother in law put the idea that you could add a goldfish or two...if you go to wal-mart or something like that...sometimes you can get them for like a penny a fish....there cheap....and then put the bowl on the mirror...she showed us the other day what she meant...and it turned out very beautiful.
