50th Wedding Anniversary

I am preparing for my parents 50th on January and would like to get some ideas on what favors would be nice to give our guest. This will be a big celebration in a fancy hotel and about 250 guest. Also I am looking for a gown for her "very special one" any recommendations in NJ or NY.

Hi Judy:
How nice! My sisters and I planned our parent`s 50th a few years ago. My suggestion would be - don`t do favors. I try to encourage everyone to NIX favors. Where did that idea even come from? And with 250 guests.....that`s a lot of favors. Personally, even at weddings I have been to, no one seems to notice or not notice if there are favors. Some favors I end up throwing away! Spend your money on elegant table decorations, flowers, invitations, whatever and forget the favors. No one notices or cares.

Judy,

Favors are a symbol of gratitude to your guests and leave a lasting impression of your event. They also allow you to add a personal touch to the event. I`m sorry, Gail but I disagree that they aren`t appreciated as long as they`re meaningful or useful. Favors don`t have to be expensive as long as they`re presented well (attractive packaging). For a 50th anniversary celebration, you could use engraved goldtone bookmarks. I`ve attended weddings where the couple wrote a message of thanks to guests on quality paper, made a scroll and used a novelty gold ring to hold it. You could write a story about how your parents met and share with guests. A 50th anniversary is truly a special occasion and I would do everything that I could to make it special for the guests of honor and the attendees.

Judy,

A 50th anniversary is truly a special occasion. I`m sorry but I have to disagree with Gail. Favors are given to guests as a token of appreciation for their participation in an event. As long as the favors are meaningful or useful they are sure to be appreciated. Favors don`t have to be expensive as long as they`re presented well. For your 50th anniversary celebration, you could present engraved goldtone bookmarks, scrolls with a personal message of thanks or a story about how your parents met. Slide a novelty gold wedding band over the scroll and there you have it, a thoughtful, yet inexpensive favor.

I would love to help with favors for your 50th anniversary celebration.

The toasting flutes I have for favors would be very nice to toast the happy couple and I custom design them and personalize them however you would like.

I have done some 50th anniversary items on my web site but those are just examples every order is custom designed to your details. I also work on pricing wherever I am able.
