There are a few - if you Google "sweet 16 party ideas". I am planning my youngest girls sweet 16 right now. Her party is in December - she loves Elvis - so it will be an elvis theme. Working on finding an "Elvis DJ" right now. I did my oldest girls sweet 16 two years ago. Her theme was "stars". I made stars and painted with glow in the dark paint and hung, we had a star named after her with the star registry, I made the table center peices cotton ball clouds with glow in the dark stars coming out, etc. We had her light 16 candles - eight family and eight friends, and say some thing speacial about each person as she lit the candle. The family members who lit candle each gave her a "16" gift; for example, her grandmother gave her 16 green and blue baloons, and said, "16 baloons of greens and blues, to wish you luck on any path you choose:, .... And I made up rymes like that for each of the 8 family members who lit a candle. Her friends candles were more informal. I also had each guest get a little card that I printed on the computer using blank business card sheets, for them to write a speacial wish for her and all were put into her "wish box". I also printed a "program" on the computer that had the words for the father daughter dance she chose, some messages from family and friends, and some info from her family tree in it, along with some funny baby pictures, etc. I put a program for each guest at theri seat. We rented the local banquest hall for about $17.00 a head and had about 120 people with family and friends, and we had a DJ. It was a really nice night. To watch her and my husband dance the father daughter dance was the best. His sweet 16 gift was a heart necklace with 16 stones, and his rhyme was "a necklace with 16 diamonds that shine, you belong to the world but you will always be mine..." Just some ideas of what we did. I really found that your own imagination can out do anything you find on the web ! Feel free to email me if you have any questions, etc. Or any ideas for my Elvis girl !
