Good for you! It is nice to hear of young people doing good for others.

Where are you having this prom? At your high school? That could be a little tricky with transportation. In any case, is there a nursing home or an assisted living center where you live? All nursing homes employ a Director of Activities. I would go and talk with him/her about activities, food, and so on and he/she will be able to give you some pointers.

One idea would be to have this as an early afternoon "prom" with a few activities and then serve cake, cookies and punch. This would not be too expensive. Make a crown - easy to do - just check the web and crown a "prom King" and "prom Queen". You wouldn`t want to single anyone out, just pick names out of a hat.
