I would just decorate your home as you normally do for Christmas each year. Do you go with victorian themed Christmas tree ornaments? That would look nice. Personally, I don`t think favors are necessary. I think giving favors has gone way overboard, and, as you say, if the bunch is "upscale" and you want "inexpensive", that may not work. In any case, if you REALLY want something......I did see online some "Victorian Filigree Favor Boxes". You could fill them with some nice chocolates. Personally, I would spend my money more on decorating your table. Either go with the Christmas colors (greens and reds) or with the Victorian colors that come to my mind such as pinks and golds. Whatever colors you choose, then I would have lovely place card holders, napkin rings, etc. Something that make a BEAUTIFUL and inexpensive Christmas centerpiece is sugared fruit. You can do this easily (I have!). Just look online how to do it. Arrange it on a tray with Christmas greens and this looks lovely!
