1940`s Decor

I have always adored the 40`s and 50`s ever since I started watching musicals with my grandmother when I was 8. I plan on having a vintage 1940`s-50`s theme for my summer wedding next year. Rather than focusing on the typical hollywood glamor side of those decades I want to create a more light and whimsical feel. I want to try and create all of the stationary for the wedding focusing my decor around old advertisements for goods and wartime paraphernalia. For instance I am using old milk bottles as centerpieces for my tables and having a candy buffet with candy of those decades. I plan on getting an old wooden wagon to use in lieu of the gift table and hanging place cards on a clothes line. I`m still trying to think of other theme elements I can incorporate into the wedding without going over the top and making it seem tacky. Any suggestions?
