Diane,

I think those colors are perfect for that time of year. You could incorporate a leaf theme also and bring it into the invitations, flowers, and even cake. You could do chocolate leaves for a favor. I also have seen pumpkins used and elaborate designs carved into them. Maybe our names or a monogram.

I have been planning a wedding for Oct. Of 2008 and have had the same difficulty. My sister had a genius idea though. I knew that I wanted to incorporate cinnamon sticks. She suggested that I go to an orchard and pick out several bundles of apples. Put the apples in some cute baskets/bowls and place cinnamon sticks. Place some of our flowers in with it. To top it off I came up with the idea to have a fondue pot station with caramel and other treats (such as pretzels, pears, nuts, etc...) so the center pieces can be eaten as well.

Beautiful centerpieces can be created with trumpet vases. You fill the entire vase with fruits or lemons in water and top it off with a floral arrangement. This can save lots of money if you bring the vases and fruit yourself to the reception and just order the floral arrangement for the top. Hope this helped.
