Brigitte,
I don`t know where you live, but I`m from Massachusetts. The stores I have been to carry all seasons. There are many with sleeves, heavy weight, or light weight gowns. I can give you the names of some of them, if you`re not too far. Please be careful if purchasing off of Ebay. I just lost $900.00 trying to purchase something and when I received it, it was defective. I have no recourse because Ebay won`t give me the seller`s contact information. But I am going forth with an attorney to go after Ebay for giving crooks an avenue to sell defective products or just run with your money without shipping any product at all.

Here in Canada, sleeveless and short sleeve are fine for fall. My wedding is in September, and I`m in short sleeves.

Didn`t she mention she was getting married in November? That`s winter time in New England. I would think that sleeveless or short sleeves would be rather chilly.

While I am having a fall wedding, I personally don`t intend to spend much all that much time outside. Here in Canada, buildings are heated in the fall, and we don`t expect sleeves on a wedding gown to provide much in the way of warmth, unless it`s fur or something.

Maybe I`m unconcerned about that aspect because I don`t usually get cold - plus, I`ve been working a lot on my arms and I want my hard work to show! If you`re going to be outside for any length of time, have a cloak or something that goes with your gown.

I`m just telling of my experience in gown shopping. Short sleeves, sleeveless, and especally strapless are very `in` right now. The salespeople tell me that anything goes, regardless of season - sleeves, no sleeves, doesn`t matter. I think that you`re going to find a lot of those in the salons, regardless of what season you`re shopping in.

I just ordered my short sleeved gown about three weeks ago for my September wedding.

I am getting married 11/29/03 in Chicago......that means it could be 60 degrees or 20 below. I already found my dress a strapless Ivory gown, I bought a matching stole that no way will keep me warm so I could be freeze, maybe my love will keep me warm! But I don`t plan on being out either so I got what I have always wanted! I hope you do the same.

I`m having a hard time finding a fall dress too. I`m getting married in Oct, outside in the mountains. I don`t think there is anything out there with sleeves! I think I`ll have to get mine made. And while I`m at it, has anyone seen anything without an abundance of poof and sequins? Everything I`ve tried on makes me look like a paper towel explosion, and I`m only a size 8!

Carol,

You and me both!!

Hey designers out there!... Design some dresses with sleeves, will ya?!?!
And for those who ALWAYS say: "Just have sleeves added"... These "added" sleeves look like exactly that -- an afterthought.

So sad.
