Using 2 Sites For Reception And Dance - Ideas

Considering using two location for daughters reception
1) dinner at parrish center on ND campus then "surprising" everyone with trolley rides to the real cool campus nightclub for a private party.
This way I get the nice " girly" locate for dinner and my daughter gets the really awesome party she wants - plus I save money believe it or not.
The second half of the event would be like most receptions -
First dance, cutting of the cake, ect. And an open bar but in a locate with a nightclub sound and light system adn leather cocktail lounge area.
We would go from the mostly white dinner locate to a black interior nightclub.
What do you think?
Will our guest be upset by changing location after dinner
Should we tell them or surprise them??

I think this is a great idea, and you can keep it a suprise as long as you offer your guests transportation to and from each site (via Trolley, etc). An added consideration would be to offer the trolley service at scheduled intervals throughout the day so that guests may come and go as they please, as they will not have their cars.

This sound really NICE and DIFFERENT! I like it!
I, too, would keep it a surprise! The only thing.....is the second location - since you are going on a trolley - very far from the first one? When your guests are leaving, will they have a long walk back to their car or will the trolley be picking them up again and bringing them back to the first location where they have parked their car?

I think your idea is really NICE and VERY DIFFERENT!!
I, too, would keep it a secret! That would be fun. I only have one question/suggestion. Is the second location, since you are going on a trolley, very far from the first location? The problem being....when your guests are ready to leave, will they have a long walk back to their car or will the trolley be available to bring them back to the first location, which is where I presume their car will be parked.

We are parking everyone by the nightclub ( in back ) and using the trolley to get them the 5mins to the Parrish center - then using the trolley to get them to the nightclub and their cars would be in the parking lot next to the club.
Update - we can show wedding pictures on the plasma tvs in the lounge area!
