Hey, There really are no school that teach you how to be a wedding planner. You kind of just have to learn on your own. I`m actually trying to teach myself right now. You just have to look through the web and also finds books. Just read as much as you can. Contact a local wedding planner and asked if you could intern with him/her for a little while, tell her it`s a project for school. If there is anything else i can help you with E-mail me a omatiebridgelal@yahoo.com

Ladies, we all seem to be in the same boat I also graduate from high school, class of 2004 and everyone else knows what their future holds, I want my future to be a wedding planner and also can not find any school for it, I think that after we all learn and become wedding planners that we should join together to create a school for future generation wedding planners, I hope you all have luck in finding what you need, and if you get discouraged talk to one another, you can always e-mail me , Bye all

Hi Ladies,

I am a preferred vendor with partypop.com and a wedding coordinator in NY. You definitely do not need a degree, certification, or any schooling for this profession. I recommend applying to be an event coordonator at your local reception hall for experience until you can go on your own. Interning was mentioned and it is a great idea. If you are in NY let me know! Also, just FYI wedding planning is seasonal, I recommed getting an associates or bachelors degree in business or something else to fall back on.

Thanks,
Noel

Noel. I didn`t know how to get in touch with you other than replying to this bulletin board. But you had mentioned if you`re in NY to drop you a line. I live in Brooklyn, and have been looking for an internship or starter job opportunity in the field, and know that hands on work is the only way to get experience. Are you offering?
