Hi Kimberly-

I would highly advise you against trying to dye a dress unless you are trying to "tint" it a light color (like peach, ivory, baby blue, baby pink, etc).

Gowns are made of many different materials all in one finished dress (the lining, the outer fabric, etc). One material used in your dress will very likely turn out a different shade than the others. Commonly, the thread used to stitch the gown together will either "take" alot lighter or alot darker, and there is no way to fix it. Also, the beading will not take the dye.

If cost is a concern, I would suggest looking on ebay for a darker pink dress. Kimberly from "Your dream dress" might have something - I would shoot her an email and ask if she might have something in color. All in all, I would really hate to see you ruin the dress that you already have.

Good Luck with your next pageant!
