Depo Yuck
I have been on the Depo for over a year and I am seriously thinking og not going for my next shot. Since I`ve been on it, I have lost any interest in sex and I have gained like 50 lbs. I do tend to spot a brownish fluid and it always makes me wonder if I am pregnant again. Not that I wouldn`t mind another child, but the only reason i went on Depo is because I loved the idea of no periods every month. Sometimes i also get very emotional almost like going through menopause, and I also get the night sweats.
Even tho it is a womans personal decision to use this method of birth control. I dont think it is right for me anymore.

I went on Depo as my first birth control and I seriously regret it. I had a period for 3 months and then nothing for 3 months - and went back and forth after that. It caused weight gain, acne, depression and some serious hormone imbalances. 3 years after going on Depo, I developed a condition called Polycystic Ovary Sydrome (PCOS). This condition is horrible and I wouldn`t wish it on my worst enemy. 2 out of 3 of the OBGYN`s that I have seen are suspicious that Depo may have contributed to, if not caused, the PCOS. I`ve learned that anything that messes up your body as bad as Depo it NOT worth not having a period.

Same thing happened to me. When Depo first came out, the doctors thought it would be the best thing for me, since I had horrible periods. I had my first shot.. And I had my period straight with 6 months of heavey bleeding. It was a night mare. I had never had such horrible cramps in my whole life. Then.. Now a few years later, We are trying for our first kid. Come to find out I have Cysts on my ovaries call PCOS, and depo may be the cause. Now my chances of ever having a child are 50%. .......just a few words of advice for anyone on depo.. Be ware
