HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS ..... PHOTOGRAPHERS AND VIDEOGRAPHERS ARE SOOOOOOOOOO EXPENSIVE. I DID NOT KNOW THAT... I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON ABOUT 50 OF THEM AND THEY ARE ALL ABOUT $4,000 AND ABOVE.... I LIVE IN MA OR RI... DOES ANYONE KNOW ONE THAT IS ABOUT $1,000? THERE IS NO WAY I AM PAYING ALL OF THAT MONEY....

Try going to a local college/university and hiring a photography major. Take a look at their portfolios and maybe a "test" session with whomever you`re interested. A friend of mine did that for her wedding and the pictures turned out gorgeous! Good luck.

Or try moving to Canada. We`re paying under $1000 for ours here in Halifax, and it`s not even the cheapest package available. While we don`t get big albums included (we figured we can get those ourselves cheaper later rather than buying theirs), we do get prints of all the photos in a preview album, some enlargements, and the negatives.

Ask at your local newspaper office if any of their staff photographers do weddings as a side business. I know some of the photographers that work for our newspaper and they do weddings. They do a great job on the pix, which are not all those frozen, too-formal posed photos -- lots of great candids too. They charge around $150 an hour plus the cost of film (about $5 a roll). Then they send you to a photo finishing place (or even someplace like Sam`s Club) to get the photos developed. All in all, that ends up being way cheaper than what these photo studios charge.
